Key features of Work Scope:

Repair of Misurata Oil Jetty which was damaged by ship impact.

A part laden oil tanker collided with the Misurata Oil Jetty, 5th February 2005, with the bulbous bow of the ship impacting the structure 5m below the water line and the ship superstructure impacting three of the four loading arms. The jetty incurred structural damage below water with one pile sheared off the soffit and displaced laterally at the head. The resultant cantilever platform can now no longer take any loading. In addition two of the four loading arms on the topsides have been damaged beyond repair with a third requiring repair. Associated hydraulics piping and fire fighting piping has been damaged, again requiring repair/replacement.

The jetty was repaired in the following sequence:

     · Isolation of LPG system with new 8” valve and purging, isolation of multiproduct system and purging; draining of fire fighting system

     · Removal of three loading arms and localized piping and equipment

     · Cutting and removal of section of reinforced concrete deck

     · Cutting back and removal of damaged pile and installing of 2 new piles

     · Reconstructing precast and in-situ reinforced concrete deck

     · Installing three new loading arms with the dimension of 6” and 2 nos of 10” diameter.

     · Reinstate piping, test and commission all reinstated facilities
